Tennessee to Florida

If you don't know yet, I have moved out of my home in Tennessee. I was still living with my mom and it was great being spoiled. Realistically, becoming an adult is overrated. I promise you it gets a little rough trying to adjust to being "responsible" for yourself. I am now living in Florida on my own seeing if somehow I can grow these little wings. You have no idea how bad I get homesick, or how impeccably lonely I feel at times. Moving to a whole different state where I know absolutely no one is frightening. There is no guidance or a set of solid directions to know where to start when you're trying to begin your own "life". You kind of just have to go with your instinct and from what you already know and have learned already. Knowing that everything is up to you is definitely intimidating. Good thing the beach is only a 10-minute drive from me.

It's crazy that a couple of days ago I was just hanging out with friends and seeing my parents every day. Now I am miles away, on my own trying to figure out what I want to do and trying to find who I am. I think that one can truly learn more about themselves when they are alone and away from everything that was once comfortable. Before moving, I had a routine. I knew what was going to happen each day. Now I am in the process of getting things started. Currently job hunting for something I will enjoy and can help me pay my grown up bills. I am also trying to familiarize myself with where everything is in town. Eventually, I will not need my GPS to drive around and I can't wait when that moment arrives. I'll be settled in and comfortable with my new life.

Ipsy Bag & Fall Favorites

This month's Ipsy bag was pretty exciting. This bag's theme is called "Black Magic", which is definitely appropriate for Halloween time. Not to mention the Ipsy bag that you get! It's super adorable with little ghosts, witches, and spell book images on it. Below are the items I received inside of my bag. I am actually very happy with the products I got. I'm looking forward to the CabanaBoy blush and blush brush. I can use both these products together. The NYX eyeliner in Gunmetal is perfect for even trying to incorporate it into a Halloween costume look. Which by the way, I have no idea what I want to dress up as still. Let me know in the comments what you will be dressing up as or what I should be for Halloween!

For my fall favorites, I have a couple of candles I bought from Bath & Body works. I've lit every single one to smell each. They all smell amazing! If you ever want to buy the fall edition candles, but feel too overwhelmed by the options, I recommend these.
I also bought a hand soap for my bathroom that is called Crisp Morning Air. This literally smells like Autumn in hand soap form!
Other than candles for fall, I am currently reading a book called "The Secret", which is a book I've been wanting to read for so long. I purchased it from Barnes and Noble and am enjoying it very much so far. I feel like it is the most appropriate book for me right now just because I was not feeling myself lately. Mainly, I was feeling lost and blue after I moved and I was having doubts about life in general. Sounds depressing, I know. Everyone feels sad some days and it's perfectly fine. I sought inspiration in a book and from what I've read already, I would highly recommend it! The book basically explains what "the secret" of life is. It's a self-transformation book and it really helps lift your spirit and motivate you to become more positive! Anytime I'm feeling anxious or low, I turn to this book and light a fall candle beside me and read on.  It's extremely inspiring and after reading I feel like I can do anything in the world! I've linked the book for you in case you are interested in buying it from Amazon. It's way cheaper there than it is at the bookstore.

Netflix Fall Favorites:
I enjoy drinking coffee and getting fancy with it during the fall. When it comes to Starbucks, I usually get the Caramel Macchiato latte, Chai Tea latte, or the Pumpkin Spice latte. Most of the time, I order the Chai Tea latte and I get it either hot or Iced. At home, I keep the Tazo Chai Organic Latte in the refrigerator and just add milk to it. My favorite cereals at the moment are also very fall inspired and are Special K's Pumpkin Spice Crunch and Apple Cinnamon Crunch, also by Special K. They are super yummy! The Pumpkin Spice cereal I found at Walmart once and after I ran out and wanted to buy more, I could not find it again. Super disappointing because I LOVED it!! That's how I ended up trying the Apple Cinnamon Crunch, which is still a great choice!

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Review

If you have not tried the Too Faced Born this Way foundation, you are missing out from "I woke up like this, Flawless" vibes.

I heard a lot of hype on this foundation on Youtube. What do you not hear about on Youtube? I always stayed close to the drugstore foundations because I found one that I absolutely love. If you do not know what foundation I am talking about already, I still feel Maybelline's Matte Fit Me foundation is the best drug store foundation. It's just awesome for a natural skin type look and feel. The Fit Me concealer is one of my favorites from them also and is the current concealer I am using at the moment. But back to this Too Faced foundation, It is by far my new holy grail high-end foundation.

This foundation retails for $39.
It claims to be infused with a combination of Coconut Water to naturally replenish moisture levels. It has Alpine Rose, which helps brighten the look of the skin and help with elasticity. Last but not least, this product has Hyaluronic Acid for a youthful and smoother appearance of the skin.

The coverage claims are medium to full coverage, and I do strongly agree. You can definitely build this foundation up if you need too, but it does not take much to get real great coverage. I'm in love with the way it sits on my skin. I look at my skin closely in the mirror with the foundation on, and it just looks super natural but flawless. It's not too heavy and it's oil free so it is not greasy. The finish is more of a satin finish because it's not too matte or too dewy. The consistency of the foundation is not too liquidy or thick. I feel that it's right in the middle and I really enjoy that fact. It does not have SPF, so you will totally need to use your own before the foundation application.

The packaging it beautiful in my opinion. It looks amazing in the frosted glass. The Gold and the Black details make it look elegant and it comes with a pump, which is something I always love in a foundation. The foundation comes in the standard size of most foundations with 1 fl oz or 30 ml.

Just for your knowledge, I am in the shade Warm Beige, just in case you need a comparison.

I have friends who also love this foundation just as much as I do. Before I purchased it, I was at Ulta shopping and I asked an employee there what foundation she was wearing because it looked fantastic on her. She was wearing this foundation and said that she always gets compliments on her skin when she wears this. I did not purchase the foundation that day, but after that encounter, I wanted to go back to buy it so bad. Finally, I have it and I LOVE IT. If you have not tried it yet, you should give it a try! I have really dry skin and still looks great on me. If you have oily skin, I feel like this foundation could sill look awesome on you.

Born this Way foundation comes in 18 different shades so their color selection is the bomb.

If you decide to get this foundation let me know your thoughts on it. I always love having conversations about makeup and different products. I love to hear other people's experiences with products. I will try to update this post later with pictures of me wearing the foundation. So keep visiting and thank you for your time in reading my posts!

Current Skin Care Routine

Hey everyone!
While brainstorming on new ideas and new blog posts, I thought why not share what I've been loving lately for my skin. Now, I've been using these products for a while and they have worked great for me. Every one's skin is different and can have opposite reactions compared to mine. Basically, these are the products that have been working for me, and if you are interested in hearing my opinion on them, then continue reading.

Anyway, my skin is definitely more on the dry side. I DO NOT get oily and if I do it is very minimal. I was having difficulty recently just trying to find a moisturizer that actually hydrated my skin enough. I've also been making changes in my diet and have now gone 2 weeks without drinking any soda or juice, but instead plain water. That being said, water is extremely important because it keeps you hydrated and does great for your skin.

Read more about my fav facial spray in my Holy Grail section.
Lately, I have been using a couple of products routinely. In the morning I use Philosophy's Purity one step face cleanser to wash my face. After I pat dry my face with a hand towel, I moisturize my skin with Clinique's dramatically different moisturizing gel. After that, I use Mario Badescu's facial spray to refreshen my face and lock in extra moisture. The facial spray contains rosewater, aloe, and herbs. I've already mentioned the spray in my holy grail section of my blog, so if you'd like to know more about it, you can read that post. I use this spray as a skin care product, but I also love spraying it all over my face to feel fresh and you can even spray it on your hair. That is all I do and use in the morning before I start on applying makeup for the day.

At night, my routine is a little bit different because that is the time I usually remove the makeup I wore for the day. I like to use my equate for sensitive skin cleansing wipes to remove makeup. I also like to use Garnier's Makeup Removing lotion because it breaks down all of the make up and with the wipes, I wipe away the melted off makeup. This product is great for helping remove some of my mascara and it's a lotion so after it's rinsed off, my face feels super soft. Another product I really enjoy for removing makeup is Garnier's Micellar water in the waterproof version. It's the best thing so far for removing my mascara and leaving my lashes clean. After I remove the makeup, I use the same Philosophy face cleanser to wash my face and use the facial spray also. The only difference at night is my moisturizer. Instead of using the Clinique gel, I like to use Philosophy's Hope in a Jar moisturizer.

I would like to mention that every product I try, I do heavy research on for reviews on them because I am just a curious person. I also do not like spending so much money on a product if it looks like it will not work at all. I looked up reviews for the Hope in a jar moisturizer and came up with a couple of people saying the product broke out their face. I risked that possibility anyway and it has not broke me out. I did have blemishes when I first began using it, but I am pretty confident it was not because of this product. I started using the moisturizer around that dreadful time of the month, and mother nature never fails to give me at least one pimple. I really enjoy this moisturizer because a little goes a long way and it definitely helps keep my skin feel soft and fresh. The whipped texture feels very light weight on my skin and does not sting when I apply on my face. I have had problems with other moisturizers making my skin sting and it's very important for me to not feel like I'm doing more harm than good. I am not a big fan of both Philosophy's product's scents, but I believe that they have maintained my skin smooth and clean.

Clinique's dramatically different moisturizing gel is wonderful. I tried this product years ago and decided to purchase it again. The main reason I did not keep using it back then was because I could not spend so much money on a moisturizer. This retails for around $30. I enjoy it very much and love to apply it in the morning because moisturizes very well. I use the Hope in jar at night because it contains hydroxy acid which increases the skin's sensitivity to the sun and that is why I wear it when I know I'll be inside instead. If you do decide to get your hands on the Hope in a Jar and wear it out, I would just suggest you to wear SPF at all times. Although, I recommend that you use SPF in general because if your foundation lacks it, you need something to protect your face from the sun.

Anyway, Clinique's moisturizer's formula is also very light weight and I totally think it's improved the texture and glow of my skin aside from drinking loads of water!

Pixie's Make up setting mist is brilliant. I bought it after I saw it on youtube as a monthly favorite and was dying to try it. Prior to using this product, I made my own version of a setting spray. I basically used a mixture of glycerine and water specifically as a make up setting spray. This mist not only sets your make up in place, but it also keeps from the make up getting into fine lines and gives you a slight blurring of the skin. I feel like it just completely smooths out your make up allowing it to sit beautifully on the skin. I spray the mist before make up application to prolong the wear of my make up and also after to set everything. As far as keeping my make up on for a long period of time, it really does prolong the wear. I think this product retails for around $16.00 and you can find Pixie products at Target.

If you have read this entire post, thanks so much for your time! Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about my posts. In case you want to know a little more about anything I mention, leave me a comment down below! Bless ya.

Cute Hair Tie Hack

Hey everyone, First off, I want to apologize because I am about to straight up let you know that you are wasting your money. Why? Because if you have ever bought or currently buy those popular hair ties that sell like $8.00 for like 5 hair ties a pack, you are being fooled completely. I make my own hair ties and they are just as cute and they keep my hair up just fine. To give you a better understanding, I can make 24 hair ties for just $3. I purchase the elastic cord from Walmart. They come in packs with 4 different patterns on them. You can make 6 hair ties per pattern. So you can do the math, or simply let me tell you. Four times six is twenty four freaking hair ties! These elastic cord packs cost around $2.67 and you could literally make 48 hair ties for $6.00. That price is still less than what other packs of hair ties are retailing for else where. Making them is not intricate or complicated. It's beyond easy and no one should be paying so much for these if you can pay less and get more.

So if you are interested in learning how to make your own, keep on reading and let's get started. I got your back girl :)

First, Go to your local Walmart and find the DIY Jewelry section, which should be by all the arts and crafts supplies section as well. Find Elastic cord. Here is a picture for you to see what the pack should look like.

Next, you'll need to unwrap one of the patterns and start wrapping it around your wrist to measure out the length you will need in order to start cutting. Once I eye ball how much I need for one hair tie, I start cutting the cord by using the first strand I already cut out as reference and that way all of the other strands are the same length.

You'll most likely have 6 strips of elastic cord. You can start tying knots on each end & have hair ties! You can start using them after you tie, but I do add an extra step to finish up making the ties. I like to use a lighter to burn off any strands that stick out & give the ties a clean cut.
